MICHAEL JOHNSON - OWNER
One of the most decorated basketball players in Washington prep history, Michael's high school career includes the following accomplishments:
- The all-time Washington state scoring leader for Class AA schools and larger with 2,271 career points
- Named 1997 Mr. Basketball for Washington state
- First team All-Metro League, All-Area and All-State three times each.
- Led Metro league in scoring three years each, only player ever to do so in the history of the Metro league
- Averaged 27.1 points, 5.3 assists and 10.3 rebounds per game his senior year including a 53-point outburst against Jackson
- Elected as 1996 and 1997 Washington State Player-of-the-Year by the Seattle Times.
- Named Washington state Gatorade Player-of-the-Year in 1996
- Selected the 1997 USA Today Washington State Player of the Year
- Was a BCI All-Tournament Team selection in the Adidas Big Time Las Vegas Tournament...
- Rated as a top 50 player nationally in 1997
- A first team Best in the West pick by the Long Beach Press Telegram, 14th overall
- Rated nationally as a top 10 two-guard by Dick Vitale
- Played in the Adidas All-American game and the Washington-Oregon game
Michael went on to be a four year letterman at the University of Washington from 1998-2001 and scored 792 career points. His Junior and Senior year served as a starter and was named team captain. His Husky career includes the following accomplishments:
- Ranks third in school history with 84 three point field goals made.
- Ranks 20th in school history with 36 double figure scoring games.
- Had a career high in points with 30 in his last game against 10th ranked UCLA, where Michael hit the game winning three pointer at the buzzer.
- He hit another game winner against Clemson in the Puerto Rico Classic
- Participated on the 1998 Husky team that played in the Sweet Sixteen and the 1999 team that made the NCAA tournament
Michael played one year professionally in Brazil for team Pinhieros...Michael was 2nd in scoring at 15 per game and helped the team make the playoffs
Assistant coach at Seattle Pacific University during the 2002-2003 season.

SANDY SCHNEIDER - COACH
Sandy Schneider joined the Lakeside community in 1979 as a Physical Education Teacher and Track and Field and Girls Basketball coach. She began her athletic administrative career overseeing the Middle School Athletic program seven years later, and also spent 10 years as the Upper School Athletic Director. Her career as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Lakeside ended with her retirement from that position in 2009, but not before she had amassed five state titles, including one with a team that the Seattle Times named the “Team of the Century.”
She attended the University of Washington for two years, where she played basketball and volleyball, and graduated from Central Missouri State University, where in her senior year she ran cross country, played basketball, and ran track. She earned her master’s degree in Sports Administration from Washington State University and Principals Credential from Seattle University. For fun, she enjoys working out and playing golf, and being a fan of any and all sports.

SARA MOSIMAN - MEDIA DIRECTOR
Four year letterwinner at Washington, Senior captain, Two-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection...A multi-sport athlete, competed in basketball, volleyball and track and field at King's High School in Seattle...2A State Player of the Year in both basketball and volleyball as a senior and State Player of the Year in basketball as a junior...2005-06 Seattle Times State Player of the Year in basketball...2005-06 Seattle Times Female High School Athlete of the Year...NCSAA All-American in both basketball and volleyball...led hoops team to back-to-back 2A state titles and was the state tournament MVP both years in 2005 and 2006.
6 years experience in coaching, camps, clinics, and individuals throughout the Greater Seattle area. Works for Basketball Travelers, Inc. in Edmonds and is the basketball color analyst for Xfinity On-Demand and UWTV broadcasts.

MICHAEL RICHARDS - COACH
Michael Richards has been an assistant at Edmonds Woodway High School for the past 3 years. He was also previously an assistant to the mens team at Highline Community College, head girls coach at Ingraham High School (where he guided the team to a Metro South title for the first time in two decades), and an assistant to the boys varsity at Lakeside High School. Michael has been a coach with Hoopaholics since 2008. He played high school ball for Ingraham High School and also ran track.

Played varsity basketball 1978-1982, All–American honors both junior (2nd team) and senior (1st team) seasons, SU Student Athlete of the year 1981, SU Hall of Fame/jersey retired, Graduated magna cum laude – Business Administration, not to be forgotten – played as the #1 seed in tennis at SU freshman year (gave it up for basketball).

BEN SCHEFFLER - COACH
Coach Ben Scheffler is a former SPU mens basketball assistant under both Ken Bone (Current WSU Head Coach) and Jeff Hironaka (Current WSU Assistant Coach). He was also the Associate Head Coach of MATC Junior College inMadison, Wisconsin. He is experienced in working with youth basketball players and has organized many camps, clinics and youth leagues, including directing the SPU Falcon Basketball Camp for several years. Coach Scheffler was the 8th grade coach for the Shorewood Thunderbird feeder program for two seasons (2008-10) and was recently named the head coach of Shorewood High School's varsity program. Ben is also the head coach of the 2013 Hoopaholics boys team comprised of some of the best players in the greater King and Snohomish county areas. Last spring and summer the 2013's won the Northwest Championships (VS Seattle Rotary), the Rose City Showcase (VS Willamette Reign), and had a strong showing in the Las Vegas Adidas Super 64 Tournament.

MARQUES CHINN - COACH
Named the head coach for Ingraham High School in 2012. Played at Shoreline Community College from 1997-1999 as a walk-on. He played quality minutes off the bench as a freshman helping Shoreline make the playoffs and earning most improved player that season. Sophomore year was a great improvement as he went on to start every game and average 14 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game earning most inspirational and top defensive player awards that season. After two seasons with Shoreline, Marques earned a scholorship to Grand Canyon University, a division II school in the CCAA. Marques redshirted his Junior year and used it as a year to learn the system and improve. Came back the following season to earn the starting point guard spot and played his final two seasons in Phoenix. Marques was able to accomplish all of this despite never playing for his high school team.

SARA WETSTONE - COACH
A three-sport athlete in high school, Sara earned twelve letters (soccer, softball and basketball) at Lakeside School in Seattle. Point guard and co-captain in basketball, her team went 96-1 in her last three seasons, winning two State titles, ranked #12 in the nation by USA Today and named Team of the Century by The Seattle Times. She was named Lakeside Female Athlete of the Year at graduation (’94) and was the Student Body President.
Sara earned her BA in Philosophy from Princeton University, where she was a two year co-captained on the women's basketball team. Post-graduation, she played and coached professionally in Denmark. After a career-ending knee injury, she returned home to Seattle where she coached the Seattle Community College women's basketball team and was named NWAACC North Division’s Coach of the Year in her first season. Sara holds a MA in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University's Leadership Institute of Seattle with a focus in Coaching and Consulting in Organizations. Currently, she facilitated experiential-based team building workshops and retreats. She has been coaching youth basketball for over 15 years.
Sara and her husband Justin have two small boys - Tallyn and Harper .

ERIC ENSIGN - COACH
Coach Ensign is a 1991 graduate of Ballard High School, where during his senior year he served as captain and helped lead his team to the playoffs. After graduation, he played briefly at Shoreline Community College before beginning his coaching career back at his Alma Mater.
Coach Ensign’s most recent high school experience was as the Head Boys’ Coach at Nathan Hale High School, where he spent the last four seasons. During his tenure, Coach Ensign helped build a successful program showing major improvements each year. For the 2011/2012 season, Nathan Hale made it to District playoffs, and Coach Ensign was named Metro Coach of the Year.
Over the last twenty years, Coach Ensign has held many assistant and head coaching positions including several seasons at Ballard as an assistant, boys and girls head coach at Eckstein and McClure middle schools, Head Boys Varsity Coach at Indian Heritage High School, Head Girls Varsity Coach at Juanita High School, and Head Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at North Seattle Community College. Coach Ensign is a high school teacher at Nathan Hale and our Hoopaholics Boys’ Director. He also serves as an assistant men’s’ basketball coach at Edmonds Community College.

REUBEN KIZER - COACH
Reuben graduated from Detroit Pershing High School in 1988. He received a full athletic scholarship to Alabama A&M University where he played multiple positions for Coach L.Vann Pettaway from 1989-1993. He was a four year lettermen during his college career. Reuben was known for his high flying dunks and long range shooting on the court and was also a good defensive player that could defend every position on the court with very quick hands. He was called the most talented athlete on the team by Coach Pettaway.
During his senior year, Reuben helped lead the team to a 28-3 record. Alabama A&M University won the S.I.A.C. tournament championship in 1993. Reuben was also selected to the 1993 All S.I.A.C Tournament team, and the team won the conference tournament championship. The team finished 3rd in the South Eastern Region of the NCAA Division II National Tournament in 1993 and was ranked 5th in the nation for NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball. He was also selected as one of 40 top seniors in the country from a Historically Black College. Coach Reuben received a B.S. in Business Administration in 1995. Professionally, he has worked as a Project Manager for companies including Microsoft and T-Mobile.
Currently coaching Hoopaholics 8th grade boys.

SARAH MORTON - COACH
Attended University of Washington from 2008-2011. A four year letter winner, ending career on a high note after leading team in assists as a senior captain. Lead Pac-10 in assists, 5th in minutes at almost 35 a game, and 28th in scoring. In 2009, 2010, and 2011 was an All Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention. Double majored in Communication and Sociology. Currently pursuing a Masters in Intercollegiate Athletics and Leadership at the University of Washington.
Four year letter winner at Monroe High school. First team All-Wesco junior and senior year. Fifth place 4A State finish as a freshman and a seventh place finish as a sophomore. Member of high school honor roll all four years, graduating with a 3.98 GPA. Played with the Spokane Stars, Emerald City Lady Pioneers and Triple Threat. Named all-tournament-first- team at the 2005 Oregon End of the Trail tournament with the Spokane Stars. Led Stars to second place finish at the 2005 Nike Nationals.
Currently coaching Hoopaholics 4th and 5th/6th grade teams with Sara Wetsone. Head coach of Ballard High School JV team.

Angie was a standout player at Holy Names High Academy and at the University of Washington. She currently coaches at Nathan Hale High School along with Hoopaholics.

TRAVIS DUTY - DIRECTOR
Travis was an outstanding student-athlete at O'Dea High School from 1994-1998. He was a two-sport star playing both baseball and basketball, and he acheived success both in athletics as well as academics. While participating in the athletic program, Travis also was a member of the student government and maintained a 3.95 GPA in the classroom.

After graduating from O'Dea, Travis was accepted to the University of Washington where he was a walk-on for the Husky Basketball Team from 1998-2001. After participating in an open tryout, he was the only player selected by the coaching staff as an invited walk-on. While playing for the Huskies Travis was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternal Organization, which participated in philanthropic events benefiting the UW community. In the classroom he continued his success maintaining a 3.4 GPA while majoring in Biochemistry.

PETE SECHLER - COACH
Played high school basketball in Southwest Washington (1983-86) where he played three years on the varsity team. He received numerous team and league honors. Then attended Washington State University (1986-90) and majored in Business Management. He took basketball classes and learned the styles, concepts and coaching techniques from the then current Pac-10 coaches and other national Division I coaches. After graduating and moving to Seattle in 1990 began coaching youth basketball and has coached teams of all ages, winning numerous league and tournament championships.
Pete and his wife Katie have four children; Kyle who plays for the Ballard high school team, Blake who played for the Whitman Wildcats junior high (both have played for the Hoopaholics), Tessa who plays for the Hoopaholics and Luke who has started playing through the Ballard Boys and Girls club. He has a passion for teaching the game of basketball with a particular emphasis on teaching players how to work as a team.

BENTON STRONG - COACH
Benton was a successful three-sport athlete at Seattle Prep and Garfield as he accumulated eight total letters in high school. He competed in all three sports as a freshman at Prep before transferring to Garfield where he focused on basketball and baseball. Benton was named the team captain of Garfield JV basketball team as a sophomore. He lettered three years in baseball at Garfield, garnering all-league recognition in KingCo 4A in each. He currently holds the highest career fielding percentage in KingCo history. As a senior he returned to football at Garfield and led the team in interceptions. At Garfield Benton also served as the Sports Editor for the Garfield Messenger and was the school’s representative on the 2005 KingCo 4A Sportsmanship poster. Benton graduated from Garfield High School in 2005.
At 18, Benton began coaching basketball at Whitman Middle School and baseball with Seattle PONY Baseball. In his four years leading the Whitman JV program the team has never lost to another JV team and he helped groom the group that led Whitman to its first ever appearance in the city championship game in 2008. In the same season Whitman beat both Washington and Mercer for the first time ever. As a baseball coach he led the most successful Seattle PONY Olympic team ever to a 27-8 record against Sandy Koufax level teams, and to within one game of the regional championship in 2007. Benton’s teams have won seven different tournament championships in three seasons. He also spent one year as an assistant at Garfield in 2007.
Benton is currently a senior at the University of Washington, majoring in Political Science. He plans to graduate in the spring of 2009.

PAUL SIVESING - COACH
Graduated from Sammamish High school in Bellevue in 2000. Helped
guide the team to the state playoffs during his senior year. Walked on at Bellevue CC and, during his sophomore year, helped
turn around a struggling team to ultimately make a run in the tournament. Transferred to
California State-Hayward where his team won the conference tournament
and made the NCAA tournament. During his senior year he transferred to Seattle Pacific University where he
graduated with a degree in Physical Education. After college he took a job with
a big in-home health care company and began coaching. His first coaching gig was as
an assistant at North Seattle CC. Last year he was the head coach of the boys
freshman team at Hazen High in Renton. In the begining of '07 Paul began operating
Sequoia, a small, quality in home care agency in Ballard.
