Hello everyone, My name is Colin Davenport and I am excited to have the opportunity to be your new coach with Hoopaholics!
A little about me, I was born and raised in Seattle and have been involved with the sport of basketball for 18 years. I have played at both the high school and college level, having played in London, England while attending Regents College in 2012.
I have been coaching for the past five years with girls and boys ages 7-14. I also cover women’s basketball for swishappeal.com.
I am currently a junior at the University Of Washington where I am earning my degree in journalism and political science.
I am incredibly grateful for the chance to coach this team and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started
Lil' Dribblers FAQ
Q: My player is brand new to basketball, would this program be a good fit?
Yes! This program is for brand new and newer players to the game of basketball. We understand they might be nervous to start with this experience. Our coach does an excellent job making them feel comfortable and enjoy this new game right away!
Q: How does the 'Skills Class' work?
Players will be working togther on skill-specific fundamentals with our coach. The very basics are taught in a fun, learning environment.
Q: How does the 'league' work?
Coach will be informally placing players on teams to get up and down the court. We have two full length courts so players will be out on the court! There is no score kept and players are split up generally by age and if necessary, by skill. Great way to get in game experience!
Q: Will my player get to play on a team with their friends?
Players will get to play with different teams and make new friends each week! League play is informal and is a great way for players to learn how to play with teammates in a 'game-like' setting.
We hope to see your player out on the court!
